The School Management Committee (SMC) is responsible for managing, administering and operating the school as a school which is

  1. funded by the Government;

  2. staffed and established by the Education & Manpower Bureau; and

  3. a government property.

In order to ensure that the School is managed satisfactorily, SMC will ensure that fair, open and formal systems and procedures are in place for:

  1. setting school goals, monitoring and evaluating progress towards those goals;

  2. drawing up the annual budgets and assessing the priorities for expenditure where applicable;

  3. assessing staff strengths and weaknesses and planning systematically for staff development;

  4. including elected teacher representatives and elected parent representatives to the Committee;

  5. establishing effective channels of communication within the School and with parents and the public.
